Press release Sept 2020
Bluegrass Rox has been very busy using lockdown as an opportunity to record new material. For the first time ever he has recorded a bunch of songs (as opposed to just instrumentals). They are 15 carefully chosen traditional songs from the Folk, Bluegrass and Country roots genre'. Bluegrass Rox has 'reinvented' these songs for today's audience with high quality arrangements and high quality recordings and also enlisted the help of a small bunch of friends, Andy Heaseman (of Caution horses fame) providing support vocals and beautifully engineering the vocal recordings, Anni Meehan (of the golden voice fame) providing the best harmony vocals and excellent mental health support, and Brenda Cavanagh (of the golden penny whistle fame) providing some beautiful penny whistle accompaniment, all from Ipswich UK. The end result is an album of very high quality, and given there are 15 songs, extremely good value. This album also introduces one of Bluegrass Rox' newest instruments, the very rare East Anglian hammered dulcimer hand made by Con Rendell. The album is available on all the usual platforms as well as the 'Bluegrass Rox' official website. CD's with lovely artwork, sleeve notes, track list and even signed if you ask me nicely, can be ordered via the website.
